I started my career as a documentary filmmaker in Iran, in 1999, and have worked extensively as a documentary and television editor in Canada and the USA. I see editing and particularly documentary editing, as a way to tell stories visually. The producers have a message and a vision, and they want to share that with audiences. That is where my job starts. I listen to them carefully to understand what it is that they want to say; then, with the help of visuals, I turn that message into a compelling story. Over the years, I have made great friends with filmmakers and producers that I have worked with. My work has appeared in worldwide film festivals such as Amsterdam International Documentary Festival and Hot Docs as well as PBS, BBC, Sun TV, MTV and other television Networks. Other than working as an editor, I currently work on my two documentary projects: My Iranian Journey, and Iranian Women Acting.
